Transfer of equipment to the Internal Affairs Unit and “Stefan cel Mare” Police Academy of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Moldova within the framework of the Threshold Country Program for Moldova (MCC)

Within the framework of the Threshold Country Program for Moldova (MCC), the US Embassy in Chisinau donated to the Internal Affairs Unit and “Stefan cel Mare” Police Academy of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Moldova equipment in the value of circa $ US 100 000. The transferred property will be utilized to the best use so as to combat corruption and promote quality law enforcement in Moldova.

The equipment will be transferred to the Institute for Continuous Professional Training and Applied Scientific Research associated to the Academy “Stefan cel Mare” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The main goal of the technical assistance is to ensure the improvement of investigation capacity of corruption acts committed by police officers of the Internal Affairs Unit.

The donated equipment includes: computers, scanners, printers, PowerPoint projector, cameras, video cameras, CD/DVD/VHS players, TVs, firewall servers, laptops, modems etc.

The new computers and investigation equipment will provide an integrated informational system, which will allow the MIA personnel to safely communicate in different regions and deliver to the central unit investigation information regarding police integrity cases.
