TCP meeting within the framework of the Millennium Challenge US Program 2008

On the 3rd September 2008, at the Pro Marshall Center, the Threshold Country Program for Moldova meeting within the framework of the US Program Millennium Challenges 2008 took place.

The meeting was attended by the consultant responsible for the Police Bodies of the Government of the Republic of Moldova, the representatives of the US Embassy in the Republic of Moldova, the representatives of the International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP) and the representatives of the Pro Marshall Center responsible for monitoring the 4th component of the TCP for Republic of Moldova within the framework of US Program Millennium Challenges with regard to the prevention and control of corruption in Custom System and Police Bodies. It is a monitoring process that implies collecting and analyzing institutions’ official information.

The main goal of the meeting consisted in the evaluation of the obtained results and deadlines with regard to the implementation of the activity II-13 within the System of Internal Affairs (SIA) “Creation and maintenance of an informational system, ensuring adequate access and security of access to the database; creation and maintenance of an automated database; elaboration and procurement of a support software program; consultancy services in implementing and maintenance of this system”. As well as one of the goal was the estimation of the obtained results for the activity I-6 within SIA regarding the process of equipping study rooms with computers, special equipment, manuals, and other specialized equipment.

In the closing part of the event, the representatives of the Pro Marshall Center and representatives of ICITAP agreed on the synchronization of the field visits and collaboration according to the settled terms for the qualitative evaluation of the results/activities during the monitoring process of the System of Internal Affairs and Custom System.
